April Ross

April Ross is one of just a handful of female beach volleyball players who have won medals in more than one Olympics. She is set to compete in Tokyo for her 3rd Olympic gold medal along with Alix Klineman, who is a first time Olympian. Ross will also be hoping for her first Olympic gold. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans get to their first Final Four. Her heart was broken by a personal tragedy during her sophomore years, yet she went on to be an All-American in her second year. The two years following her, she took the Trojans to the top of the mountain and clinched consecutive national championships. In 2003-04, Ross was named the top collegiate female volleyball player in the US according to The Honda Sports Award. Ross took a course in International Relations at USC. Margie Ross never saw her daughter make it to the top in beach volleyball. Ross's mother Margie died in 2001 when Ross was still an USC sophomore. Her breast cancer had been diagnosed. Her mother is still dear. Margie is a beach lover as well as in her everyday life, inspires her.
